Day 10

After blowing the plan to get up and go B&E, had a nice leisurely gallon and a half of coffee talking with Kim. Left about 10am. It was so nice to have a little of that home ambiance  – after all the motels.

Thanks again to Jay and Kim and Katie and Dustin.

After yesterday’s ride today was almost boring. Not because it wasn’t beautiful, it’s just that Glacier is that grandiose. So we didn’t get a lot of fotos.

We headed west along 2 and 20 to go through the Cascades in the north.   The temps were in the upper 90’s. And it is even hotter since we got into Washington. To make matters worse Washington has a requirement to wear helmets. As does Oregon and California.  That will certainly affect our plans for this part of our trip.

We stopped for the night in Colville, WA at a place called Benny’s. Since it was the 4th of July almost every place was closed for dinner. We drove around town and found an Italian place that was open – Cafe Italiano – and in keeping up with our good fortunes on the trip, it was excellent, quite possibly the best italian I’ve had. If your ever in Colville – we recommend Benny’s to stay and Cafe Italiano for eats.

Stats for the day – Left Kalispel @ 10am mst and stopped in Colville, Wa @ 5pm pst for a days total of 281 miles and a trip total of 3389.
